James B. Patterson is an American novelist who is famous for writing thriller novels for readers and has one of his most famous series based on a detective name Alex Cross, although he does write fiction books based on romance and also non fictions but the fame he has earned has been because of his thriller and suspense books based on a detective Alex Cross.
Patterson has came out with a series of books after his retirement from advertising in 1996, after which he devoted his time into writing books which came out to be quite fruitful for him. However, even though his novel has been the bestselling novel for quite a long time, many of the people have been more disappointed by his new book “Cross”. This is the latest book of the series of the psychologist Alex Cross.
Just going back to the other books, readers of thriller and suspense books just loved how he wrote and built up each and every plot of it for his readers. They loved the character of Alex Cross and what he did. However, the most recent book named cross has not reached up to the mark as other books had. The book basically tells a story about a Brooklyn born killer, who has a very unique way of killing his victims which could be associated with Alex‘s wife death. Even though the plot when read may seem interesting but the way it has been put down into words by the writer just isn’t good enough. The way he built up the story to cater with its plot does not seem pleasing to the readers; rather it makes you lose your interest come to think of his other books of the same series.
Even though the book has been written in the same pattern as he has been writing his other books, where she shows both side of the story based on both Alex’s side and also the villains to build up the mystery. Yet again he failed to do in this novel of his, there was no dept found in reading. Not only that the book was more gruesome and bloody compared to other books and that made it hard for some people to read, where they characterized the book as something related to death then a thriller based book. This book would surely be the black spot of the series.
