What is Gmail?

Gmail is the free email from google. It is free for anyone to register. You don’t have to pay any money for registration. In my opinion, it is one of the best email service available that is free. The reason is because it is owned by google. By this, I mean that google tries to bring the best service to its users. For instance, at present, Google is the best search engine. What is the reason? It tries to bring the best search result to its users. It result are not always the best due to some people trying to manipulate the search engine by them doing SEO (Search engine optimization). But most of the time, the results are the best.

Gmail is good because google tries to incorporate a lot of things into it. For instance, you can chat on the email. Before you can do that, you need to add the person on your chat list, and the person also have to have a gmail account. You can also view the person’s webcam, or/and use a microphone on the chat.

I also like how the emails received are managed.  The emails shows a chronicles of the interaction between the recipient and the sender. For instance, if you receive an email from someone, it would appear like a received mail, which you would see in your inbox. If the person send you another email by using the reply on the previous emails, you would see (2) at the end of the subject of the email. This would help you to better understand the communication between you and the person. Other email services would make the second reply as a new mail, but gmail makes it as a (2).

Gmail is also good because it uses javascript. But if your pc is slow, opt for the html version. The javascript helps you to get new emails immediately without you hitting the refresh button.

You can also open attachments with gmail, without you downloading it. You just click the view button and you would see it. You can view any document, whether it is a word file, excel, powerpoint or pdf file. This is made possible because of google document.

How to Sign Up for Gmail?

If you want to sign up for gmail, go to this place  http://mail.google.com/mail/signup. You would need to enter your name, and desired password. You can also enter your email if you have another one. But the annoying part of the sign up is the captcha that you have to enter in correctly. You have to be careful when during this or you would get it wrong and redo it again.

Since gmail is now one of the most popular free emails, people started taking advantage of that and started creating a lot of emails. Google now requires a phone number verification for this.

Gmail And Other Google Services

Since google has gmail, it has tried to incorporate all its services with gmail. From your gmail account, you can use all of google services. The main service I use my gmail account is my adsense account. Adsense is a money making program that a site owner put on their site. What adsense does is that it generates ads on the website. When someone click on the ad, the site owner gets some commission, while google gets the remaining. I don’t know how much percentage of the money is shared between google and the site owner.

Adsense is very good for people that are looking for how to make money online. Basically you don’t have to do any work. The only thing you have to do is to write the content (which you were doing people), and google bring the ads that makes you money. The trick with adsense is that, the more traffic you get, the more money you make.
